Why would a boss run an office like a grade school class?

I’m a state employee who works for a boss who doesn’t seem to know better. What I mean by this is that she has a time clock for us to punch in/out: mind you NO STATE WORKERS ARE DOING THIS because we are on monthly salary (with the exception of a few who are blue collar workers). The old time clock broke & she promptly replaced it; then the new clock went awry but she fixed it! I was told someone abused their time many, many years ago; a time before any of us joined her (except her asst). Is this her way of not addressing someone who might currently have an attendance/time issue?? Im feeling ill about it because we are the only ones clocking in/out. I have always been accountable for my attendance, so Im very OFFENDED…and yes I’m looking for other employment (not just for this reason- because there are other issues, as well).

Do i have a case here?

I worked at fazolis and i called the labor board and health department. I called the labor board because i was working overtime and my general manager would change my time clock punches (yes i seen her do it i was also a manager and had access to this) so i wouldnt have it so she wouldnt get in trouble. I called the health department because she would serve food off the floor and let employees do it and she would also serve food that had unthawed and then been refrozen. Then i went in to work and her exact words were " We have to let you go because of misconduct because you called the health department and labor board and the owners are very upset." I would like to know if i can sue and if this was wrongful termination?
Yes i was a good employee i was promoted to manager withing 3 months when there were other people there with more experience and i had only been written up once because i have forgot to put a reciept in my night mailing packet.

legal questions for wrongfull termination and others?

I was recently fired from what I think might be a business that does some things illegally.

The day I was fired, my manager was going through some stress…she had scheduled only one person for the evening shift on accident, and was having other problems that were causing her to be in a bad mood as she always is.

I was also stressed out, admittedly I had been working 7 days a week 5-7 hours a day, attending college, and am engaged. (worrying about money for the wedding next year.)

That day I had a Panic Attack around 2pm(after my manager had gone home), I have never had a panic attack before, and this one was bad. My fingers were cramped up, my arms, chest, and face were numb.

I had to call an ambulance to come get me, and take me to the hospital. The hospital had a 4 hour wait so I had my mother come get me and stay with me until I calmed down.

The next day, when I went to get my truck from the store (which had been left over night due to the panic attack.) I come in to find out I had been fired.

Her excuse was that I am "scaring customers", and cursing employees.

Now I "KNOW" that there is only one employee that has a problem with me at this job, and I work with him maybe 4 times a month.

I am one of the very few people that work at subway that has never had a customer complaint…The manager…the assistant manager…the night manager…have all had customer complaints.

Yet without warning, I am fired the day after I have a panic attack…now I do admit that I was no-t acting in a polite and decent way this day and the night before, but I was no worse than the manager or assistant manager act on a daily basis.

There are also other things, such as the time clock we use is the cash register, making it impossible for us to clock in sometimes until after we had been there for a while.

What is the solution for this? They go in and manually change our clock in hours to what is showed on the schedule. Which is also wrong because Almost every employee comes in early and has to start working early due to her scheduling to little people.
(I have worked here for the better part of 3 years, I have quit for 3-4 month periods twice in this 3 years due to the anger I had been building up from the constant verbal harrasment, sexual harasment from many employees,(which even after telling my manager, it continued.)

The last straw that is making me consider legal action is the last paycheck I recieved was missing some time…now it was only 15 minutes, but I wrote it on the schedule because I came in 15 minutes early, and my manager came to my truck and had me go to the bank to get change for the store.)

Earlier when I started working there, I had 3 paychecks in a row that I had to go and gett them to change because the general manager left off hours.

Now I dont know if I have a case, but I would like to know what other people think.
So I have nothing at all to go on? Not even with the illegal time clock procedure? I would like to at least report them to somebody.

filling out USAF application…need help! will give ten points!?

when i was 19yrs old, i was fired from my part time job at walmart. it wasn’t because i was a bad worker or anything. it was actually just a technical problem, my time clock punches were messed up and i didn’t realize it. so they kinda had to fire cuz of strict company policies. but my manager did tell me that im rehirable there, and i just have a wait for a little while until i can apply again. other than that, i’ve never been in trouble, never did drugs, have excellent credit, never had a trouble with the law, etc. infact i work as a security guard now, and my company never had a problem with me/work background. i just wanted to know if this is going to negatively influence my application and acceptence into the air force.

Rate this joke……….?

For thirty years, Johnson had arrived at work at 9A.M. on the dot. He had never missed a day and was never late.

Consequently, when on one particular day 9 A.M. passed without Johnson’s arrival, it caused a sensation. All work ceased, and the boss himself, looking at his watch and muttering, came out into the corridor.

Finally, precisely at ten, Johnson showed up, clothes dusty and torn, his face scratched and bruised, his glasses bent. He limped painfully to the time clock, punched in, and said, aware that all eyes were upon him, "I tripped and rolled down two flights of stairs in the subway. Nearly killed myself."

And the boss said, "And to roll down two flights of stairs took you a whole hour?"

Workers comp question — benifits while being paid to volunteer?

I have sent a simliar question to the State of Missouri already but would like your opinion too

I am an employee with a workers compensation question. My employer would like me to do volunteer work while on company time.

1.I would be driving my personal vehicle off of company property. If I get into a accident in my vehicle (regardless of fault) while on the time clock, will I be covered by my employer’s workers comp?

2.In the event of an accident on the non-profit organization’s property, am I still covered by workers comp since I am off of my employer’s property but on the time clock?

3.In the event of an injury/accident while either in my personal vehicle or off of my employer’s property at the non-profit’s property, will there be a delay in my workers comp benifits while my employer researches it’s legal options against another driver or non-profit?

4.Can an employer in Missouri force its employees leave the property to do volunteer work on company time?

Thanks

In Kurt Cobain's Suicide Note, who was Boddah?

To Boddah
Speaking from the tongue of an experienced simpleton who obviously would rather be an emasculated, infantile complain-ee. This note should be pretty easy to understand.
All the warnings from the punk rock 101 courses over the years, since my first introduction to the, shall we say, ethics involved with independence and the embracement of your community has proven to be very true. I haven’t felt the excitement of listening to as well as creating music along with reading and writing for too many years now. I feel guity beyond words about these things.
For example when we’re back stage and the lights go out and the manic roar of the crowds begins., it doesn’t affect me the way in which it did for Freddie Mercury, who seemed to love, relish in the the love and adoration from the crowd which is something I totally admire and envy. The fact is, I can’t fool you, any one of you. It simply isn’t fair to you or me. The worst crime I can think of would be to rip people off by faking it and pretending as if I’m having 100% fun. Sometimes I feel as if I should have a punch-in time clock before I walk out on stage. I’ve tried everything within my power to appreciate it (and I do,God, believe me I do, but it’s not enough). I appreciate the fact that I and we have affected and entertained a lot of people. It must be one of those narcissists who only appreciate things when they’re gone. I’m too sensitive. I need to be slightly numb in order to regain the enthusiasms I once had as a child. On our last 3 tours, I’ve had a much better appreciation for all the people I’ve known personally, and as fans of our music, but I still can’t get over the frustration, the guilt and empathy I have for everyone. There’s good in all of us and I think I simply love people too much, so much that it makes me feel too fucking sad. The sad little, sensitive, unappreciative, Pisces, Jesus man. Why don’t you just enjoy it? I don’t know!
I don’t have a goddess of a wife who sweats ambition and empathy… and a daughter who reminds me too much of what i used to be, full of love and joy, kissing every person she meets because everyone is good and will do her no harm. And that terrifies me to the point to where I can barely function. I can’t stand the thought of Frances becoming the miserable, self-destructive, death rocker that I’ve become.
I have it good, very good, and I’m grateful, but since the age of seven, I’ve become hateful towards all humans in general. Only because it seems so easy for people to get along that have empathy. Only because I love and feel sorry for people too much I guess.
Thank you all from the pit of my burning, nauseous stomach for your letters and concern during the past years. I’m too much of an erratic, moody baby! I don’t have the passion anymore, and so remember, it’s better to burn out than to fade away.
Peace, love, empathy.
Kurt Cobain
Frances and Courtney, I’ll be at your alter.
Please keep going Courtney, for Frances.
For her life, which will be so much happier without me.
I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU!

RIP KURT… <33

Do you agree about this?

I think women should always be willing to give it up when we want it.My girlfriend says she would rather hold hands and watch a movie together than to get freaky..Why is it so hard to find a woman who just loves to have sex without all the fore play and without me having to entertain her with holding hands and television watching…taking her shopping…and cuddle time…I think if u are in a relationship…you should constantly have sex and that’s it none of this other time wasting stuff…holla am I right ???? It’s like I gotta work and punch a time clock and do stuff she wants to do before she’ll give it up to me.

Co-Worker Stealing- complicated?

I work in a small gas station owned by 2 guys. One is basically a silent partner- I deal with Bob. The manager is Cindy. She is one of 6 employees. Two employees are related to Cindy, and one recently hired employee, DeeDee, is not related but has been a very close friend of one of Cindy’s relatives (who is also an employee).

DeeDee and I were hired around the same time. She almost always gets more hours than me and I find her extremely annoying. I could ignore that. I recently discovered that she is stealing from the store. I don’t know how much, but its rather obvious to me. Recently when we were closing out the day- she had worked am, me on pm and we ran one shift- I remarked that we should expect the drawer to be short . She reported a . gas drive off in the morning and in the pm a guy got . in gas and realized he forgot his wallet. The drawer came up . over. That is a . discrepancy. She said she must have took money for purchases and forgot to ring them up. Um, forgot? I don’t think so. Its an easy way to steal without it looking like you’re stealing.

Problem is, when I talked to another employee (one related to Cindy) she mentioned how much Cindy likes DeeDee. And Cindy has been managing the store for years.

I know in theory the right thing to do is to report this suspicious activity (oh yeah- DeeDee pads the time clock. I’ve seen this one myself for sure) but I think the only result would be me getting fired.
I know exactly HOW she is stealing but am choosing to not spell out the method here- not everyone here is honest and no sense giving a would-be thief new ideas.

Problem is the way she is doing it there is no way to know for sure exactly how much she’s stealing. When inventory is done the owners will know there is a problem, but not until then.

It sucks the owners are being ripped off. I just don’t see them making the necessary staffing changes to prevent it.
