Hi, Thanks in advance!
I am enlisting in the military and the MOS I want requires a SECRET Clearance. I have/had a juvenile record from when I was 17. I am currently 28. My case was dismissed, I was not found to be an adjudicate of the court, and the record is "sealed," expunged," "destroyed," "hidden." And every other word my lawyer could think of to indicate it is unavailable. My question is, do I disclose this to my recruiter? I know most will say "Yes! Of course! The Military will find EVERYTHING!"
However, I am a Nationally Registered Paramedic in Los Angeles. As part of my licensing and certification I had to be fingerprinted to undergo 3 to 4 background checks from Local Agency level to FBI and DOJ (Department of Justice). All of which came back with "NO ARREST" status. If the FBI and DOJ do not have information on my expunged record how will, (or can), the DoD get it? From my understanding they can’t, specifically because a SECRET clearance only does computer based background checks?
I was told by the judge and lawyer to answer "NO," to any questions asking if I was ever arrested or charged. I answered NO on my National Registry DOJ and FBI forms. I have renewed my License 2x since then.
What do you guys think on the matter? Are my records indeed expunged, or does the FBI and DOJ conduct very poor background checks? I do not want a waiver limiting my enlistment for a gross misunderstanding over a decade old. I would rather not enlist than enlist with a waiver and under certain conditions.
Does anyone have, or know someone who has, a Secret Clearance who omitted any juvenile info (As instructed by the Judge) on their SF-86 that was "sealed?"
****** Please keep in mind, I am a NATIONALLY REGISTERED Paramedic and as such have undergone background checks by the FBI and DOJ. I am also State, County, and City Licensed and Registered and have also undergone background checks on State, County, and Local levels. I have even submitted fingerprints and background information to the DOT (Dept of Transportation.) On all background forms I stayed consistent with what the judge told me as a juvenile. Which is that I have never been arrested or charged. I waited roughly 6 weeks to get my background cleared by FBI and DOJ and a little bit less time for my County and Local Agency check.
How do these background checks by FBI, DOJ, State, County, and Local Agency check differ from the background check for SECRET Clearance?
****If I now mention my juvenile record to the military, that can then lead to a slippery slope into my civilian career in which I have always contested that I have never been arrested or charged. Correct?
I tried to open up the properties box on the explorer icon to delete cookies, etc. and a restrictions box came up saying "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." So, I thought maybe my log on account had been changed from administrator to a limited account. I was going to the start menu to access the control panel, and the control panel is no longer there…does anyone have any idea what may be going on here?
Thanks in advance
Also my internet explorer 7, seems to function incorrectly. I can’t even view the messages in my yahoo mail ( I can read the list(s) of mail, but when I click into it, no message appears).
Online/streaming windows media player also does not work.
NOTE that I have deleted a dll file from my system32 flagged as a trojan from Mcafee ver. 8i. Then this started happening, and I cannot restore my system. It won’t open up from the start menu, but I have to go around to control panel and to the help menu to access it, but a blank window just opens up!!!!
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!
Thanks in advance!
it says : Restriction: This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer, Please contact your system administrator.
Yes I am the only one who uses this computer and go on the same web sites since I got the computer. Control panel has been missing for about 3 days and I can’t click onto internet properties either.
Another popup also says: Warning! Potential Spyware Operation!
Your computer is making unauthorized copies of your system and Internet files. Run full scan now to pervent any unathorised access to your files! Click yes to download spyware remover…
I have already tried rebooting in safe mode, Spyware removal{{anti spyware} ,Antivirus. I tried to add Norton Antivirus 2007 but I have to remove my old version and can’t because I can’t add/remove software. Is there a way to make my computer like new without losing the factory installed software? I already tried system restore and that didn’t work either.
Thanks in advance: Chris
I’ve checked through some old answers and have tried everything to no avail to get rid of System Security version 4.52.
I tried to access my control panel with add/remove programs, selected the system security icon and tried to remove it, and it indicated that the program was already removed. Yet when I restarted, the pop ups were still there (as well as the icon on the toolbar). I could only access the control panel in safe mode, but I can’t seem to run the antivirus programs in safe mode.
I’ve downloaded free copies of several versions of anti-malware software, but SS will disable them. I am on the verge of throwing my computer out the window. I am not tech-saavy enough to deal with this!
I called the customer support # for spyware doctor and was told that their program would remove the virus (not the free dowloadable copy which the damn program keeps disabling before it would run).
When I called the store that carries spyware doctor (which I will not name because their sales associate really pissed me off- but it rhymes with "rest guy"), I was told they can’t guarantee the program WILL work, and there are no refunds – but their geek squad can fix it for 0. Seriously?
So, does anyone know how to disable this stupid thing? As I’ve said, I’ve followed several links, tried several downloads – to no avail. If I can’t disable it myself, does anyone know of an antivirus program that can (and will) remove it? I can’t afford to waste money on software if it doesn’t work, and I certainly can’t afford to pay someone 0 to fix it.
So – any advice on how to disable and remove System Security 4.52?
Can anyone recommend an antivirus program that will?
Please respond ASAP – it won’t even let me open Microsoft Word, and I need to access files for class!!!! Thanks in advance!
My roommate moved to Rhode Island in July. We lived together for 4 years. When we’d drink a lot, he’d "accidentally" walk into the bathroom as I would pee. I never said anything to him, but the anger is building up inside of me. Where, on his head, should I punch him when I see him again? He’s coming back into town at the end of this month and I need a plan.
Thanks in advance.
If you’re just going to suggest that I not hit him and instead talk about my feeling, go answer something else.
If I wanted to be a woman about it, I’d put on an apron and watch Oprah.
I work for a company that has approximately 30 employees. People constantly complain about this, and nothing is ever done: The general manager of our company is constantly changing our time cards to avoid paying us overtime. For example, if I am scheduled 7-3, and I do not clock out until 3:30, he will go into the time clock system, and delete the punch-out at 3:30, and insert a punch-out at 3:00. He does it on a regular basis. Isn’t this illegal??? I have the number for the wage and hours division of the department of labor for my state (Illinois), and I’m thinking of calling them, because I am sick of being robbed of this overtime pay!!! I’m staying late to help other employees, not just hanging around and loitering on the clock. Anybody have any input/experience on this subject? Thanks in advance!!
A couple of years ago, I bought a Sharp SPC384D bedside alarm clock, which gets time signals from the NIST atomic clock in Boulder, Colorado, which is THE legal standard for time keeping in the US. Recently, I had to change the batteries. As you might expect, the current time and date were wiped out when I did so. Once the new batteries were in place, I was able to reset the time and date without any real problems. I was not able, however, to reset the clock for the Central time zone, which is where I am living. I’ve lost or mislaid the instructions for this silly thing, and I can’t find any kind of website or online information about this clock, except where to buy it. Does anyone have a copy of the instructions for this clock, or can anybody tell me hoe to reset this clock for the Central time zone? Thanks in advance!
Does anyone know a simliar poem to Roger McGough’s poem, "The Identification"? The sotry dosen’t have to similar. It can be anything from the theme to the tones. Here’s the actual poem. I know its long but plz read. Thanks in advance.
So you think its Stephen?
Then I’d best make sure
Be on the safe side as it were.
Ah, theres been a mistake. The hair
you see, its black, now Stephens fair …
Whats that? The explosion?
Of course, burnt black. Silly of me.
I should have known. Then lets get on.
The face, is that the face mask?
that mask of charred wood
blistered scarred could
that have been a child’s face?
The sweater, where intact, looks
in fact all too familiar.
But one must be sure.
The scoutbelt. Yes thats his.
I recognise the studs he hammered in
not a week ago. At the age
when boys get clothes-conscious
now you know. Its almost
certainly Stephen. But one must
be sure. Remove all trace of doubt.
Pull out every splinter of hope.
Pockets. Empty the pockets.
Handkerchief? Could be any schoolboy’s.
Dirty enough. Cigarettes?
Oh this can’t be Stephen.
I dont allow him to smoke you see.
He wouldn’t disobey me. Not his father.
But that’s his penknife. Thats his alright.
And thats his key on the keyring
Gran gave him just the other night.
Then this must be him.
I think I know what happened
… … … about the cigarettes
No doubt he was minding them
for one of the older boys.
Yes thats it.
Thats him.
Thats our Stephen.
Roger McGough
