Blank FingerprintED cards at home…Legal or Illegal?

Ok went to State Police Support Center to get my fingerprints collected so I can submit them to TSA(trasportation security administration). The son of a BTCH working there took my fingerprints and gave those both cards to me. When I called HOME LAND SECURITY they said that it is Violation of Security. My fingerprints were on it, he did not fill out anything like name. it was blank. If i wanted to done something I could have wrote some one else name with my fingerprints you know. DON’T YOU THINK THAT US LAW ENFOREMENT AGENCY SCREWED US EVEN DURING 9/11. HOW CAN I REPORT THIS PERON WHO GAVE THESE DOCUMENTS TO ME. CAN I REPORT IT TO FBI?
He did not fill anything, he just gave me the card with my fingerprints ON IT. what if I put some terrorists name instead of mine, with my fingerprints you know what I mean. This is just an example by the way.

Are you ready to accept a new Federal ID card which allows any scanner to know your personal info?

REAL ID will be a new federally required identification card as of May 11, 2008. These "smart" ID cards will carry your background and have features such as magnetic stripe, printed bar code, optical, or radio frequency tracking. Homeland Security is permitted to add additional requirements– a fingerprint or retinal scan. The hidden Bill was attached to another Anti-terrorism proposal and passed.

Evangelical Christians have likened such a proposal to language in the Bible warning "that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." That mark is the sign of the "end times." Libertarians argue against increasing the power of government. Civil liberties groups worry about criminal mischief. National ID cards are used in many countries, including Cuba and North Korea. Like those citizens, if you don’t carry one, you will be subject to arrest. Republicans are rushing it via elections.

What say you?

Hijab; ok. Berka; too much. Do you agree?

First of all, I’d like to say that I don’t mean to be discriminative or racist with this question of mine. I do have many Moslem friends, many of which wear teh hijab (female head cover). I agree that it is totally your right to dress according to your religion or heritage. Accordingly, I think moslem women are free to cover their hair if they choose so and we shouldn’t be complaining. What is really annoying me is the berka (the female face cover). I think it should be legally banned in all countries. It is very inappropriate for the 21st century. Women drive, study and work. They need identification papers. How could you tell who this person is if they cover their face? What about criminals and especially terrorists. It’s very easy for them to walk down the very street we are walking in dressed like a woman in a berka. That’s in addition to the problem of communication. How friendly is it to deal with someone you can’t see their face?
I’d like to hear all your opinions concerning this issue. Please state your religion and country of residence.
I am a Greek Orthdox Christian living in Egypt.

How will people cope with keeping their identities intact away from the government?

There seems to be a changing attitude towards biometrics in the last couple of years. People who are constantly being frightened by the fear tactics of the government concerning terrorism, feel as if keeping track of "terrorists" will make them feel safer. But the truth is, everyone, not just the terrorists will be tagged this way…tagged just like cattle. Have the governments forgotten that they work for us?! Giving up your distinctive features to an institution is definitely not the way to go. Call me paranoid, call me crazy, but the real crazy ones are those who are willingly giving up their information. Civil liberties will soon disappear. Give me your opinions on this subject. People don’t feel concerned over this, instead they take their time fighting against organizations that preserve these very same privacy rights (ie: ACLU), something I keep seeing in right wing groups.
Are there any ways to avoid this, avoid getting tagged? With growing technological advances, this seems non plausible.
paintedhorse30: apparently you don’t get it. Exactly, the government has been working less and less for us since now they do everything for their own interests…and about "I don’t have anything to hide." DO YOU EVEN HAVE A CLUE THAT THIS IS A CLEAR VIOLATION OF YOUR RIGHTS AS A HUMAN BEING?! GIVING UP WHAT MAKES YOU, TURNS YOU INTO A NUMBER…MEANING YOU ARE NO LONGER A PERSON!!! IT’S PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT DON’T GET IT…WAKE UP!!!

It seems to me that the only ones that don’t worry about this are mostly the old farts who will sooner or later die…this is an important issue for me, being a young person of 18, I don’t want to live the rest of my life in a POLICE STATE!

Why should Americans trust an Israeli company to read travelers minds to see if they are terrorists?

This technology sounds like a bunch of quackery. How do we know if this biometric scanner really works? How did they test it? What’s it’s success rate? How many terrorists has the Israeli security caught?

Does the FBI need EVERYONES fingerprints, palm prints, retinal scans and facial characteristics???!!!?

CLARKSBURG, West Virginia (CNN) — The FBI is gearing up to create a massive computer database of people’s physical characteristics, all part of an effort the bureau says to better identify criminals and terrorists.
The bureau is expected to announce in coming days the awarding of a billion, 10-year contract to help create the database that will compile an array of biometric information — from palm prints to eye scans.

Kimberly Del Greco, the FBI’s Biometric Services section chief, said adding to the database is "important to protect the borders to keep the terrorists out, protect our citizens, our neighbors, our children so they can have good jobs, and have a safe country to live in."
But it’s unnerving to privacy experts.

"It’s the beginning of the surveillance society where you can be tracked anywhere, any time and all your movements, and eventually all your activities will be tracked and noted and correlated," said Barry Steinhardt.

The FBI says it will protect all this personal data and only collect information on criminals and those seeking sensitive jobs.

The ACLU’s Steinhardt doesn’t believe it will stop there.

"This had started out being a program to track or identify criminals," he said. "Now we’re talking about large swaths of the population — workers, volunteers in youth programs. Eventually, it’s going to be everybody."
RP!!! You’re back!! How many now??

Americans, what can your country do for you, and what will it do to you?

"The FBI is gearing up to create a massive computer database of people’s physical characteristics, all part of an effort the bureau says to better identify criminals and terrorists.

But it’s an issue that raises major privacy concerns — what one civil liberties expert says should concern all Americans.

The bureau is expected to announce in coming days the awarding of a billion, 10-year contract to help create the database that will compile an array of biometric information — from palm prints to eye scans.

Kimberly Del Greco, the FBI’s Biometric Services section chief, said adding to the database is ‘important to protect the borders to keep the terrorists out, protect our citizens, our neighbors, our children so they can have good jobs, and have a safe country to live in.’"

Should National Id Cards be Used?!?!?

I have to write an article on if the U.S should use National ID cards. i am torn between yes and no because they could be safer and catch terrorists, but then again it gives the government too much power. And, if the National ID card is used should it have biometric identifiers or tied to a national database???
