There is a passage in the Old Testament that says "If a man does not work he shall not eat."

But

Jesus says in the New Testament that you should not worry about what you are going to eat or what you are going to wear because God will provide all you need if you seek the kingdom first.

If God will do it for me why do I punch the old clock? If I weren’t worried about food, clothes ect, I wouldn’t work. Can someone explain how this works and tell me how to get on the god payroll.

I work in PA. My boss adjusts our hours based on speculation. Prior to figuring our payroll my boss just sits back and IMAGINES extra breaks we take. then just adjusts our hours down without even telling us. we just get suprised with a smaller check. what does the law say about this?

So, My company went out of business. One day the district manager walked in at close said "everyone clock out, we’re out of business" They had a U-HAUL ready and started taking things out of the restaurant. I really don’t think they have any intension’s of paying me, or any of the other employees. I’ve been emailing them for the past week. The women who handles payroll says she just "doesn’t know" when checks will be made out! I’m furious! So what do I do to take care of this? I mean, I want to go to the extreme. I want to sue them if I can. I mean, anything to take them down! Anybody have any advice. What can I do to teach this company a lesson!

I opened a case with the Labor commission for unpaid wages against my ex-employer and when I requested my payroll and time clock information, I was advised that my time clock info was "no longer available". I have reason to believe that they deleted my time clock information. I wanted to know if this is something that would hold up in a small claims case….

I hate people who are so unprofessional as to bring drama to the workplace and gossip etc.My coworker recently got her hours cut because she was riding the clock and our boss has been getting onto her for months as well as other employees who were going over 40 hours a week.well she kept doing it anyway and they finally brought the hammer down yesterday and said she had to get off the clock at the right time or she wouldnt have a job.So she came back from the office and was all loud and cursing and saying someone must of been talking about her(this went on all day).Our boss looks at the computer every thursday to do payroll and theres really nothing to tell its all there .Am I the only one that goes to work um to work .Thank gawd Im allowed to take my books up there to study and do homework between customers.I mean do they honestly not have anything else to do but gossip and complain.I dont understand people like this if you dont like something or a situation wouldnt your energy be better spent doing something productive about it.

I HAVE EMPLOYEES THAT DON’T FILL OUT THEIR TIME CARDS EVERYDAY & THEN WHEN IT COMES TIME TO DO PAYROLL I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THEM TO DO SO BEFORE I CAN PROCESS IT. AS AN EMPLOYER, DO I HAVE ANY RECOURSE OF PUNISHMENT TO GET THEM TO UNDERSTAND THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE ON A DAILY BASIS & CONCISELY? WE DON’T USE A TIME CLOCK, JUST WRITE ON A TIME CARD. IF THEY LEAVE TO GO TO THE DR, HALF THE TIME I DON’T KNOW BECAUSE THEY DON’T FILL OUT THE CARD PROPERLY.
