I’m looking for exactly:
What is the AFIA fingerprinting system and why is it used for law enforcement (not used for public places) (and it’s not the technology that goes in your integrated fingerprint scanner that’s in your laptop)
What is biometrics system and why is that used for civil purposes only?
Now that I have your attention, here it is. I need your help with choosing a laptop. I have it narrowed down to two notebooks. Both are HP and they are very, very similar. Here are the main differences:

And thanks, but I don’t really need any other brand/model suggestions. I have done quite a lot of research and have looked at a lot of brands and models and have decided it is going to be one of these two. I just can’t decide which one.
So, my question is, what are the advantages of either one? Which would you pick and why?

I have to constantly put my computer clock back to the right time. its last about 2 to 3 days with the right time then it change again.
i want to know why it does that and how do i fix it, keep in mind this doesn’t only happens with my computer.
I said keep in mind because I have had about 4 different computer 2 laptop and they all do the same thing with the clock.
to add I only had this laptop for a year and I got new from best buy so the battery must really suck!
It ticks all the boxes, light, good memory etc HOWEVER I think that it is overpriced £1200 because of the bamboo gimmick. can anyone suggest a similar laptop that meets this spec and is the same weight and size? 1.6kg and 12 " (could go up to 13")

Ok. so i have a ‘Compaq nc2400′ laptop, and it has a fingerprint scanner. To use it, i need to download software from HP.com. These are: ‘HP ProtectTools Security Suite’ (latest version 3.00 required) and i also need ‘Authentec Fingerprint Driver’ (version 1.10 latest). I have downloaded and installed them both and it seems to work, but when i open HP ProtectTools, it doesnt give me the option to set up my fingerprint for me to scan when i log in….WHY?
My friend bought a laptop at a yard sale this weekend and it has the fingerprint scanning type log in or you can backspace and enter the password … does anyone know what the technicians password would be or if there is anyway to bypass these security features? it is a toshibasattellitte m105-s3004 laptop running windows xp media edition.

OK so my friend got a laptop and it is blocked by a school blocking system. You cant access the control panel and you cant install anything on the laptop. How can i just erase everything and start over.
I am having trouble with enabling the security chip on my laptop.
This would be a Dell Latitude D620. The security chip has to do with the fingerprint reader.
Please help?
