Just received letter for USCIS saying my i485 was received and that they would mail me a letter for an appoinment.Myquestion is how long do i have to wait for that letter.How long for the actual green card?

Can an illegal alien, from Mexico, get a livescan fingerprint done who does not have a California ID, or green card, or Social Security Number? They have a Mexican driver’s license and Mexican passport. They want to get a job in a nursing home, and the nursing home requires that fingerprints are run through DOJ, and an FBI check.

I received a letter from USCIS with my appointment date for biometrics, by the way its on 01/26/2009. I don’t know anything about biometrics and the letter doesn’t say if I have to go with my husband ( I’m applying for the green card through marriage) or not and how much the fee is. If it helps its in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I’m confused and worried, please answer attorneys or people who’ve done it before.

I’ve had my biometrics done on 26th of January. But I did not send the I-485 form yet and did not do my medical exam. I wonder what do I expect now? I have been waiting for over a week and still did not receive any letters from USCIS. I’m applying for the green card through marriage.
