1.) Powerful and Continuing Nationalism: Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

2.) Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights: Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

3.) Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause: The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial, ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

Bush Aides ADMIT ’stoking fear’ for political gain: Bush adviser said the president hopes to change the dynamics of the race. The strategy is aimed at stoking public fears about terrorism, raising new concerns about Kerry’s ability to protect Americans and reinforcing Bush’s image as the steady anti-terrorism candidate, aides said.

8.) Religion and Government are Intertwined: Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. 9.) Corporate Power is Protected: The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.
The K Street Project is a project by the Republican party to pressure Washington lobbying firms to hire Republicans in top positions, and to reward loyal GOP lobbyists with access to influential officials. It was launched in 1995, by Republican strategist Grover Norquist and House majority leader Tom DeLay.

President Bush Attacks Organized Labor: Bush attacked organized labor Saturday, issuing orders effectively reducing how much money unions can spend for political activities and opening up government contracts to non-union bidding.

11.) Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts: Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.
Bush’s new economic plan cuts funding for arts, education

12.) Obsession with Crime and Punishment: Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations
American Gestapo is here: "There is hereby created and established a permanent police force, to be known as the ‘United States Secret Service Uniformed Division.’"
America: secret jails, secret courts, secret arrests, and now secret laws

13.) Rampant Cronyism and Corruption: Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

14. Fraudulent Elections: Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

They were bussed and flown in at Republican lawmakers expense. Some even flew in on Tom Delay’s private plane.

What is the User Access Control?

Quote In older versions of Windows, if a program such as a virus gained access to your computer, it gained access to everything on your computer. With Vista, your programs (including viruses, should you be so unfortunate as to catch one) run in "unprivileged" mode. This means that any virus you run will perhaps mess up your own files, but not other critical system components. Quote

What is he trying to say .

Also on the subjects of active x and java people are talking about here. There is good active x and java and bad active x and java .It just the programming code the pogrammer use to write the active x and java .They use bad programming code to write the active x and java .There are good pogrammers and there are bad pogrammers .

The OS is not advance enough to know what is good active x and java and what is bad active x and java .Has the OS would have to read the code to see if it is good or bad.

The only thing we can do is send bots to web sites to sniff out bad active x and java.Google does this has I tried to go to a web site and got message from google that the web site may harm my computer. But the technology is just not there for the bots to go to every web site or the OS to read the code and tell you if it is good or has malware.

Hello. You are now living in a fascist empire
Neo-fascism in America : Too many people believe fascism is only about goose-stepping, jack-booted Nazis. Too many people believe that American democracy is so strong that fascists could never take control of America. If you are sympathetic to those views, I invite you to consider the possibility that you are mistaken.
It is in times of fascism rising that armies of ignorance are once more resuscitated from the bowels of a society bordering on the edge of mass psychosis. The America at the dawn of the twenty-first century is no exception…

Resources for celebrity photo identification?

I’m looking for a site or resource that specializes in identifying celebrities or models. I tried some celebrity face-match options, but didn’t come up with anything useful, and I only have one picture.

Since links to my picture weren’t working before, another source:

http://www.htg.tartu.ee/~a4berit/Outrageous%20haircuts/short22.jpg

Or just search for "short22.jpg" on google, and it’s the blonde who shows up twice, with the goofy background.

Any helpful responses would be greatly appreciated. I’m not looking for a critique, just a name or direction to somewhere I can find a name. ;)
That is, I’m looking for a group or people who specialize in figuring out what celebrity is pictured in a photo, since facial identification programs haven’t been helpful enough.

Any group of particularly knowledgeable celebrity or model gossipers would be great, but I don’t know anyone with these interests.

Google Earth – How close are we to DNA identification?

Google Earth now has the capability to display satellite images of people/faces and license plates for a given location on Earth.

Presumably, facial recognition technology can be used to identify people whose faces can be seen in the images. However, how long before a scan is possible to determine if a particular individual at a given location is, in fact, a person that is wanted by authorities? It may sound crazy, but if you said 15 years ago that you’d be able to punch in an address on your computer and get a satellite image of your house and yard, with the detail to be able to see a person in the yard, people would have thought you crazy….

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Problems with Windows 7 and my fingerprint scanner?

I recently did a clean install of windows 7 64-bit over my vista 32-bit. When i booted up, i realized that my fingerprint scanner no longer worked. Ok. I find the biometric device under device manager and click find drivers, and it installs one. However, it was not the really nice scanning suite that came on my computer (dell xps m1530). So i google it and find that I had the UPEK protection suite, and find a long to install it. So i do that. Now, my scanner won’t work. The UPEK folder i downloaded contains some drivers that are apparently doing nothing, and when i try to enroll/access enrollment for fingers under the old suite, i get the following error: "cannot load enrolled fingers for biometric device1. The unit ID number doesn’t correspond to a valid biometric device."

a) what can i do to fix it? and
b) how can i get my nice fingerprint suite back?
correction: The suite i am getting errors from is in fact a UPEK related suite, though not the one i recognize. So a) how to i direct my biometric device to that software and b) where can i find the actual software that i used to have my on my laptop?
