i am using the windows 7 beta and have an acer 6920G. the finger print reader shows up under biometric devices in device manager but i can’t use it with windows, it doesn’t detect it in configuration. is there something i’m missing. i know it works because acer bio-protection works but it’s a piece of crap and i don’t want to use it. is there a way i can get it to work with the windows program?

We are a small business under ten employees and have always punched in and out on a time card. Recently the owner is looking into software that clocks one in and out using ones fingerprint. This information is on an unsecure server that has internet access through a DSL line. Is this an infringement of civil liberties and do you have to submit to your finger print being on file with your employer for the purpose of keeping time?
this finger print reader is supposed to be an alternative to swipping in an id card. form what i have heard you put you thumb on the screen and it scans it and knows who you are. I have heard of them using this at tanning beds. Does anyone have any information on this

When I connect Finger Print reader with access control panel, The reader is powered up. But the template enrollment keypad does not display anything. Its back light is glowing but no display is there.
What is the problem?
how secure are the biometric finger print scanners of laptops and can you use them to log in to myspace ect
I am working at a high security area which requires a pass and finger print to gain access. While registering the fingerprint, the security system failed to register my forefinger and pop up a message " Forefinger registration deny – Fingerprint already registered with ID 1234". According to the staff and system technician the person 1234 has the got the same forefinger print as mine. So the question is what are the chances for two persons having the same forefinger print? Since that happened to automated process, will the manual process (naked eyes) have the same recognition problem?

I found my Fathers Identification that was issued to him while he was in the Marine Corps during WWII. It is plain and simple with his name and basic information on it. Birthdate, Hair, Eye Color and weight, with photo (his finger print is on the back).
It also says ‘Void After: Indef.’ Does this mean that it is still good? Do you think that he would be able to use it at the PX (he lives close to Fort Knox)?
He also has his Marine Drivers License that doesn’t expire either. I’d like to see the look on a State Trooper’s face if he was showed that when asked for a license.
I’m not going to do a lot of looking for an answer to this as it isn’t that important. I’m just curious.

He was stationed at Camp Tarwa in Hawaii (was a MP). With the interest in Clint Eastwoods movie, I look the place up and got lots of pictures. I wanted him to tell me about the place (more than what I heard as a boy). One week after I got the pictures and info on the place. He had a stroke and can’t talk.(about 2 months ago).
Wish that I knew more about the place. He knew a lot of the men that trained there before going to Iwo Jima.
