i enjoyed a windows 95 game, mechwarriors II, some years ago on an older computer, and now i am trying to play it on my newer windows xp computer. i successfully installed it but when i get to the title screen and press play, it wont work. if i use the run option, it wont work. when i try to access it from the control panel, it wont work. HELP
since 2 days i have problem using yahoo messenger and mozzilla firefox. Yahoo messenger has completely disappeared from my system. When i am tryin to reinstall, it shows some error like windows cannot access the file. Even i cannot access programs from control panel (add/remove programs). is it because of virus? please help me with this problem. thanks..
I have deleted the winantivirus files but now I cannot access the control panel. A pop-up window says that it is restricted and to contact system administrator. Another pop-up window keeps popping up telling me to download an antispyware program. Which if you click yes, takes you back to the winantivirus website. Help please. Thanks.
I Can not access, my MCaffee or norton anti virus software or even control panel due to system 32 errors. I am certainly no computer expert but would really appreciate someones help in sorting this.
The computer seems to have their lock on it, I cant do anything besides the programs they installed. I called them and they said there is nothing they can do. I cant access the system restore point, control panel, task manager or anything that a normal computer has.
Please help. Know of any codes, commands, anything?

@cgramer2: I tryed that, the blue Dell bar doesnt even pop up, goes from the Windows XP screen to a pop-up from them telling me to click "OK"…

I’m running XP Pro on my home, personal pc. When I select Add/Remove Programs in the control panel it says "Add or Remove Programs has been restricted. Please check with your administrator"
Also the system freezes when I start Safe Mode.
How can I gain access to the Add/Remove program option?

i could’nt get access to most of my control panel prgrams..ie.add/delete program, etc..
I have a dell dimension 3000 and when I try to access the control panel I get the following error: "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer please contact your system adminstrator." I just got this computer from my father in law and he stated that this issue started for him after he had internet installed through comcast communications. I tried contacting Dell but, since the computer is out of warranty they want to charge me for tech support and that is just wrong. Please does anyone have any suggestions or solutions to this problem?

It requires that I have administrator privileges because we think we got a pretty bad virus. I cannot access the Control Panel to fish around in there. We aren’t even able to do a system restore or anything because of the fact that we can’t access due to administrator privileges. If anything we are just trying to get our family’s pictures off the computer to put on CD’s to preserve them but we can’t even do that. CAN ANYONE HELP US PLEASE!!?? Images will also not show up on webpages, etc. The internet is relatively fast, however, when it does work. I’m fairly savvy with the computer and I’m trying my hardest.
I am also unable to open the smallest things like Internet Explorer Options to try deleting cache and stuff like that..
Both. The Control Panel is nowhere to be found. Even in the Search menu. Tried Run…cmd typed control panel and it still says I need administrative privileges from even there.

In the Help Center I get some weird messages that say cannot locate ATL.DLL or something.
On another note…when we press Ctrl+Alt+Delete we are unable to ask the TASKBAR WHATSOEVER at any point.
Thanks Kayla. I was in text support at once before but haven’t encountered this…not at least trying to salvage priceless memories ya know. The only error messages I’ve seen are the ones mentioned above. I’m actually in SAFE MODE right now… There is this blinking thing in the bottom right that says you have spyware crap but when you click on it IT IS the spyware crap…I even managed to uninstall it but its still there. This is a fairly new computer too.
It started happening around about 2 months when my cousin’s husband was downloading porn and then downloaded a spyware thing off the internet for bucks and the word "license" was spelled wrong…so ……………… we just wanna preserve these pics but we aren’t even allowed to use the CD-ROM to burn them onto and uploading them would take at least a year.
It automatically opens in safe mode regardless. Some errors are LOW ON VIRTUAL MEMORY; APPLICATION HAS FAILED TO START BECAUSE ATL.DLL WAS NOT FOUND; alg.exe NEEDS TO CLOSE, send or don’t send; 129296.exe needs to close, send or don’t send; System Restore has been turned off and can’t be turned on in safe mode.
Well I downloaded Norton 2007 and was attempting to install it, BUT IT WON’T LET ME INSTALL IT IN SAFE MODE???
We are unable to locate the CD’s we need…can someone tell me what the cd would be called so i can download it?

A program seriously trashed my main admin account on windows xp. I don’t have access to the control panel, command prompt, etc. How do I fix this account or make another admin account without using the control panel? I’ve tried system restore and it did nothing.
