Punishment/Jail time?

asked this yesterday but didn’t get much answers… I just found out a few days ago that my boyfriend (now ex) stole a bunch of checks from me and used that at a bunch of different places. Well I filed police reports with each city/county that a check was used in. I even have survalence video footage from a liquor store with his face. The total amounts only equal up to be about 0 but I was told that check fraud is a felony. Is that true no matter what the total amount is? I was wondering if anyone knows how long he will have to go to jail for? He has LOTS of priors, none for check fraud, but one is for providing false identification to an officer. Any ideas? We live in Minnesota. I want him to pay for what he did. Unfortunetely he will always be in my life because I am 5 months pregnant with his child.
My bank covered all of the stolen money. i get it all back. i am not worried about that. i just want to make sure he doesn’t get away with this. he is a very bad person. he told the places that they were his wife’s checks and that she knew he was using them.
No it’s he wrote them in Ramsey County & Washington County.
I would never have gotten child support from him in the first place. this will be his 3rd child, and he hasn’t paid a penny for his 2nd and his 1st he is behind ,000. He is a real winner.

Why would a boss run an office like a grade school class?

I’m a state employee who works for a boss who doesn’t seem to know better. What I mean by this is that she has a time clock for us to punch in/out: mind you NO STATE WORKERS ARE DOING THIS because we are on monthly salary (with the exception of a few who are blue collar workers). The old time clock broke & she promptly replaced it; then the new clock went awry but she fixed it! I was told someone abused their time many, many years ago; a time before any of us joined her (except her asst). Is this her way of not addressing someone who might currently have an attendance/time issue?? Im feeling ill about it because we are the only ones clocking in/out. I have always been accountable for my attendance, so Im very OFFENDED…and yes I’m looking for other employment (not just for this reason- because there are other issues, as well).

Where are the cost effective (cheaper than a PC), graphical, diskless network appliances/X terminals?

As I am looking to build or buy a new home, I started planning a home computing system for the house from scratch. What I have in my head is some beefy server and cheap workstations (graphical diskless thin-clients) throughout the house. I have read some up on the Linux Terminal Server Project and envisioned an amazing system possibly involving intercom (VoIP), home chat, controlled web access (I have kids), Myth TV, word processing, presentation and central fax & print. The software seems to be there for the right price. The hardware is another story. I have not been able to put together this architecture cheaper than just buying and networking full fledged Windows systems for each room. Isn’t there supposed to be a cost savings with this architecture? Am I after a 2001 dream that everyone else knows has already failed? I am tired of spyware and viruses and updating multiple systems with various patches. Is it going to cost more for less?

why shouldn't our governmental reps be paid by the hour?

have you noticed how many jobs have become wage paid, not salary paid? to make a salary, the law states that you must have managerial duties. that means that you’ll be working more than 40 hours a week without extra pay.

since congressmen are not working at all during many weeks of the year, and when they are, they work only 103 hours, on average, per month, why not take their salaries (which they want upped now to 0,000/year) and break them down into hourly wages?

then they too will have to punch a time clock and put their finger onto a pad to verify it is THEY that are working in their offices or wherever else, but the work must be on our behalf, accounted for YOU AND I.

why not have citizens that are now unemployed/underemployed due to population increase and amnesty be their supervisors? to sign the time slip each day? so that they get paid?

why don’t they too have to live on social security when they retire?

since president bush & teddy kennedy, senator, want another 12,000,000 people working for wages, not salary who don’t generally even speak english to become citizens and take your jobs (they want SKILLED aliens), over our crowded population of 300,000,000, they too should be paid by the HOUR, not by salary, and they too should pay into the social security system, then take social security benefits when they retire.

now the salaries of our congresspeople are 5,000/year. they want 0k or more. all right, 5k is spit (but they won’t suffer when they leave office because they made "connections," therefore, their businesses outside the government will make a fortune), while they are paid such spit while going on free vacations hosted by wealthy supporters of certain candidates. all right, let them vote themselves a raise to 0k, but break that down into hourly pay and deduct taxes exactly like our own wages are taxed now.

HAVENONE: you take 0k, break it down to 2,000 hours, and you get .00/hour, gross. you presume one 2-week paid vacation a year. that’s okay, even 3 weeks is fine.

however, know that the reps don’t work from july 4 until the day after labor day (or was it memorial day).

so you cannot base the wage on 2,000 hours per year, or can you?

I have noticed that the time displayed on the Verizon network is faster then that of AT&T. What is the difference and why does this occur?

two clocks/watch synchronised and after some time they will deviate so which one is faster or slower?

two clocks/watch (clock A & clock B) synchronised minute for minute, seconds for seconds exactly. after 10 year passed, there’s surely a deviation between both time that the clock reads, probably half a second or perhaps half a minute, so how do i determine which one is the accurate one, how do i know clock A is faster or slower or perhaps how do i determine clock B is the one which is slower or faster. supposing that i take a third clock (clock C) as reference how do i determine whether it is accurate as well. any clue? please justify

do I have any recourse?employer withholding pay?

Boss/Owner is saying that I didn’t ‘work’ for a period of 2.5 hours the first day I started my job. other employee told boss this, & no one else except employee saying this is witness that I actually was working. Boss is saying other employee told her that I chose to ’study’ work related procedures ‘rather than complete tasks the other employee had assigned me to do’. Employee did not assign tasks to me;I was ’shadowing’ her (1st day)and repeatedly asked her to let me know what she needed me to do- when she told me, I did what she asked. In addition, at no time did the employee or boss tell me that I was doing something (i.e. studying, as is claimed, instead of working) that I should not have been doing.I was only told this after I inquired why my paycheck was less than hours I had punched on time clock. I punch a time clock and am paid hourly. can an employer arbitrarily decide that I wasn’t working and not pay me for those 2.5 disputed hours even though I had punched in? Is
this legal? I already asked state labor board and they would not answer the question directly (told me I could file complaint)….however, before I consider filing a complaint, I would just like to know if it is legal to pay someone less than the hours they punched in on a time clock?
