What do you do and how has it changed your life!

This is kinda a letter i was going to write to Claire’s corporate. Im not sure what i should really do about all of this…so any suggestions would help (who to send it to, how i should change it, something else i should do…etc..)

i use to work for Claire’s and loved the company up until recently when i was wrongfully terminated. I was accused of payroll theft, which was untrue. The day i was terminated, The DM came in about 2 hours before my shift was finished, and when i asked for my lunch break, she said no. So i worked a 9 hour shift, without being allowed to take any break. We went into the back room to talk,then She accused me of stealing payroll. I Worked my butt off for that store. I worked 65+ hr weeks, which i was told by the Dm "stay under 50 hours a week, but you cant leave until everything is finished." I was not properly trained to be the Assistant Manager, which the DM knew,but was thrown into running the store because it turned out the new manager was convicted of murder, so she was terminated.
I also only had 1 associate. It got to the point where i worked off the clock because I was constantly being scolded for my overtime, which i also was forced to work several weeks without a day off. When i was terminated, i kept telling the DM i didnt steal payroll (she was telling me everything over the 40hrs a week were stolen and i was a liar) So after an hour and a half of her telling me im a liar, and making it seem like if i agreed partially to what she was saying i would keep my job,
i signed a piece of paper saying i stole 2 hours of pay. After i signed
the paper, she fired me. I loved my job, i would have never done anything to jeopardize that. The reason she thinks i stole payroll is because On a Sunday when i closed the store, she stopped by the store and i had just left. she checked my clock out time, and i was clocked out 15 min. after i had left. The reason for that is When we had the new POS registers installed, i was trained when closing to print out all paperwork, and estimate when i would be leaving to get the final paperwork that prints out at the night. I usually estimated 30 minutes for recovery and paperwork. I was told by the manager that trained me, that if i leave before my estimated time, just fix it the next day, so thats what i would do. That particular day i had my first day off in about 2 weeks the next day, so the last thing on my mind was to go in and fix my time, i figured i would do it on Tuesday when i came in, which turned out to be the day i was terminated. I had forgotten about it until the DM brought it up. Because of the termination, i lost my personal days, and my holiday pay. I worked my first day on april 27th 5:30-8, but for some reason my hire paperwork is for may 4th. This DM should lose her job. She refused to give me any
type of break, which breaks: Vermont Statute 21, section 304 "An employer shall provide an employee with reasonable opportunities during work periods to eat and to use toilet facilities
in order to protect the health and hygiene of the employee. (Added 1997, No. 115 (Adj. Sess.), § 1, eff. Jan. 1, 1999.)"
She should have written me up, or rewiewed closing/openings with the associates after the new registers were installed.

Okay, so we got new time clocks here at work, and I’m not too sure how the hell it works.

I had an employee clock out at 15:66. I am well aware of the fact that he clocked out a 3 something, I am just not sure how to figure out what each minute calculates out to.

Someone please HELP!!

can a employer tell a worker, what to do with their personal off the clock time?

I just bought my dell XPS 1530 laptop. I want to switch from vista basic to XP because I’ve always had problems with vista. Does anyone know of a program that will allow me to switch to XP and still use the biometric fingerprint reader that came with the computer? Or would it be wiser to switch to Vista Ultimate?

Airlines lobby for system to speed airport security Biometrics uses scans of iris and fingerprints
By Carly WeeksOTTAWA — A coalition of Cana­dian airlines and airports is putting pressure on Transport Minister Lawrence Cannon to adopt a biometric travel screening program that would allow passengers to “fast track” through airport security and avoid hassles like taking off their shoes, coats and removing laptops from their cases before boarding planes. The voluntary program, which is currently in place at several major U.S. airports, relies on iris and fin­gerprint scans to identify passengers and quickly move them through air­port security. The biometric screen­ing system is seen as a way to significantly reduce line-ups and other delays that have become a major has­sle for passengers, particularly those who travel frequently, according to the coalition, which includes Air Cana­da, WestJet, as well as the Toronto, Montreal and Edmonton airport authorities. “It’s just another service to passen­gers,” said Scott Armstrong, spokesman for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority. “Obviously, peo­ple are always looking for ways to make the whole airport process quick­er.” Although some Canadian airports have expressed interest in the biomet­ric screening, the federal government has to approve such a program before it can be up and running in Canada. That’s because Transport Canada would have to conduct the background checks on interested applicants, and Canadian Air Transport Security Authority employees would likely be responsible for helping passengers with biometric cards at the airport.
When passengers are approved for the program, they receive a card that comes equipped with a microchip con­taining their biometric data that they must bring to the airport and scan on a machine, similar to a bank machine. Passengers with biometric cards would be able to wait in separate lines that have specialized security equipment, enabling them to pass through security checkpoints quickly and easily.
Adopting such a system, also known as a registered traveller program, “would enhance aviation security while improving the passengers’ experience in the airport,” says a letter sent to Can­non’s office last month by the group of Canadian airlines and airports.
The group argues the federal gov­ernment wouldn’t have to spend any money on the screening program, because it would be paid for by the pri­vate sector. Furthermore, any Cana­dians that wanted to use a biometric screening card would have to pay for the service.
There is currently one company, called Clear, which operates the bio­metric screening program for about 45,000 passengers in the U.S. Although the GTAA has already signed an agreement with Clear for a similar program here, nothing can move for­ward until the federal government decides whether or not to approve it.
A spokeswoman for Cannon’s office as well as CATSA said the federal gov­ernment is currently reviewing the program to see if it can be imple­mented here.

I have a Dell XPS 1530 and I would like to be able to use both of these features to login. Right now it will login when i type a password OR swipe my finger. How can I make it require both to login. Password and Fingerprint. I would like to have more security.
